I came into tattooing from more of a graphic background than one of fine art, having studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Napier University in Edinburgh.
I have always been attracted to traditional tattoos for their bold lines and simple shading as the style is perfectly suited to how I like to draw. I got my first tattoo right after my 18th birthday and was totally hooked. I started drawing designs for myself and friends to get tattooed.
I was lucky enough to find an apprenticeship straight out of university and set out to learn as much as I could about the trade, finding out about different styles of tattooing. 6 years in, I'm still constantly striving to learn new skills and techniques.
As well as traditional tattoos, I love to do bold Japanese work and geometric pieces. Some of my favourite artists would include Duncan X, Sarah Carter, Gre Hale, Xam, Mike Adams, Tony Hundahl and Virginia Elwood.
